Name | Population Projections (Archives, 2020-2075) |
Summary | Population projections for U.S. states and counties to 2040-2075 (varies by state) |
Additional Background | This database contains population projections for most U.S. states and counties at five-year intervals through the year 2045, and for some states, to the year 2070. (Data are not available for the District of Columbia, Idaho, Mississippi, Ohio, South Dakota, or Vermont.) The sources for each state vary, but are generally demographic or financial research organizations within each state. The U.S. total does not equal to the sum of all states since data are missing for some states. The source for U.S. projections is the Census Bureau.
Because reporting periods for states are not consistent, some projections are estimated based on average annual rates of change.
