This database contains persons obtaining legal permanent status in the U.S. by country of birth and destination by Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs) by Fiscal Year (Oct. 1-Sept. 30). CBSAs are areas containing a substantial population, combined with adjacent communities having a high degree of economic and social integration

The destination category "other" includes unknown destinations, Armed Services overseas, and all U.S. territories except Guam and Puerto Rico.  Immigrants from Serbia and Montenegro are reported as from Yugoslavia prior to February 7, 2003.  From 2003-2008, Korea includes a small number of cases from North Korea.
