Name | Community Services Per Capita |
Summary | Community services per 10,000 persons |
Additional Background | This database estimates the number of community service establishments (e.g., child care, food, relief, foundations, advocacy services, etc.) per 10,000 persons for the United States, states, counties, cities, and ZIP Codes. The number of establishments is based on the U.S. Census Bureau's North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Establishment totals for cities reflect the sum of ZIP Codes, i.e., those with geographic boundaries, plus P.O. Box-only ZIP Codes associated with the same city. Establishment totals for ZIP Codes reflect ZIP Codes as reported by the Census Bureau.
Estimates per 10,000 persons for cities reflect the number of establishments divided by population estimates from American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates. See here for additional information on the ACS.
Estimates per 10,000 persons for ZIP Codes reflect the number of establishments divided by associated ZIP Codes Tabulation Areas (ZCTA). ZCTAs are slightly different from ZIP Codes used by the U.S. Postal Service. For additional information on ZCTAs, see here.
