Name | Border Crossings |
Summary | Border crossing information |
Additional Background | This database reports information collected monthly at all U.S border ports by the U.S. Customs Service. Crossing data are available for trucks, trains, personal vehicles, passengers in personal vehicles, and pedestrians. A value of zero indicates that no vehicles or passengers have entered the U.S. at a port of entry or that data cannot be recorded due to a lack of facilities, i.e., a value of zero trains may occur because there are no train stations at that port. There is no comparable data collected on outbound vehicles. See terms and defintions for more information.
Note: There is an apparent data anomaly for the categories Incoming Bus Crossings and Incoming Passengers on Buses in reported 2013 data. Specifically, the passenger count is identical to the number of bus crossings in some cases. We have notified the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics of the error and have requested a correction. However, as of the 2014 update on May 7, 2015, we had not received a response.
